We Balance Profit and Purpose

We aim to run our business in a way that is sustainable and makes a positive impact on the world. In 2018 Grand Central Bakery became a Certified B Corporation, becoming the first bakery in the Pacific Northwest to achieve this distinction. B Corporations meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.

Certified B Corporation — Give Rise to a Better World

Certified B Corporations are leaders of a global movement of people using business as a force for good. To support our B Corp status, we updated our Articles of Incorporation and reincorporated as a benefit corporation.

B Corps use profits and growth as a means to a greater end: positive impact for their employees, communities, and the environment. The B Corp Impact Assessment, done every three years, reflects not only what we currently do, but pushes us to do more. It serves as a road map for the future and holds us accountable.  Community Support

  • We give annual grants and company-matched employee donations to local and regional nonprofits working on immigrant rights, diversity and inclusion, and land stewardship.

  • Employees use paid company time to volunteer as they choose in the community.

  • We offer generous in-kind donations from our bakery to feed the hungry and help community organizations raise funds.
